Latest Manchester United Injury Report: Updates On Shaw And Williams

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw will have a scan on his ankle and is now a major doubt for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer side’s next game against Crystal Palace on Thursday.

The 25-year-old picked up the injury after trying to pick up a pass from Marcus Rashford midway through the second half of the 2-2 draw against Southampton last night.

Brandon Williams came on for Shaw on 75 minutes, but the substitute did not last long either. A nasty clash of heads with Saints right-back Kyle Walker-Peters left the United youngster needing stitches.

Unfortunately, despite having one more substitution available to him, Solskjaer was unable to put on a replacement for the final few minutes due to the Premier League’s rules that limit teams to making subs on three separate occasions during the game.

A head injury may not keep Williams out for too long but if he did sustain a concussion, he won’t be able to play against Palace later this week.

In other injury news, Phil Jones has undergone minor surgery on his knee and is not expected to play again this season, while Axel Tuanzebe will be sidelined until September.
