Latest Manchester United Injury Report Ahead Of The Game Against Arsenal

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho had to select Nemanja Matic at centre-back in the 2-2 draw against Southampton on Saturday evening.

The Red Devils are suffering from an injury crisis leaving the Portuguese boss with one fully fit centre-back in Phil Jones.

Chris Smalling is suffering with a foot injury, while Eric Bailly has a back problem. With Victor Lindelof already sidelined for a few weeks with a thigh issue, it means United may be forced into starting Marcos Rojo against Arsenal on Wednesday night.

The Argentinian international has not played this season and has only recently returned to full training because of his own injury problems.

Mourinho has more issues at fullback. Matteo Darmian and Antonio Valencia both have knocks while Luke Shaw had to be substituted due to injury at St Mary’s. With Ashley Young already suspended for the game, Mourinho may have to rely on Diogo Dalot.

The problems don’t end there either. Despite scoring against the Saints, Romelu Lukaku jarred his knee in the closing stages of the match and is now a doubt for Wednesday. Marcus Rashford also picked up a knock but has more of a chance of starting the game versus the Gunners.

With Alexis Sanchez already out with a hamstring injury, it means United are severely weakened in both defence and attack heading into a crucial game.
