The Frenchman was taken off in the first half of the 2-1 win against Everton a couple of weeks ago, but he won’t play against Tottenham and he is a major doubt for the clash versus Chelsea on Saturday.

Christian Eriksen missed the 0-0 draw against Newcastle at the weekend due to illness and it is not certain whether he will be fit to face Spurs.

Captain Harry Maguire remains on the treatment table with a hamstring problem, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka is still unavailable due to a muscular injury.

Brandon Williams (knock) is closing in on a return to the first team with ten Hag stating that he should be back in team training very soon. Donny van de Beek is also nearing his comeback after spending the last six weeks out of contention with a muscular problem. There is a chance the Dutchman could be involved against Chelsea.

Axel Tuanzebe remains a long-term injury absentee, with it now being confirmed that he won’t play before Christmas.
