Latest Manchester United Injury News: Updates On Bailly, Jones And Tuanzebe

Manchester United defender Eric Bailly raised concerns about his fitness after going down injured in Ivory Coast’s 1-1 friendly draw against Belgium on Thursday night.

The 26-year-old went off with what appeared to be a hamstring problem, before being replaced by Odilon Kossounou on 70 minutes, but the centre-back took to Instagram after the game to ease fears about another injury layoff:

“Thank you for worrying about me, but I’m doing well. Just fatigue. Goodnight to you all and God protect us. Congratulations to my team for the match against the first ranked team”

Since moving to Old Trafford in 2016, Bailly has suffered a number of serious injuries; the last of which saw him miss the first half of the 2019/20 season due to a knee problem, but it seems as though he was only suffering from cramp and should be available for the game against Newcastle next Saturday.

In terms of other injuries. Phil Jones is still recovering from a knee injury which has already kept him out since July. His omission from the Champions League squad suggests he won’t be back anytime soon.

Axel Tuanzebe is thought to be back in training but, after a long layoff due to an ankle issue, he is taking time to get back to full fitness.
