Manchester United are sweating over the fitness of midfielder Scott McTominay heading into tomorrow evening’s game against Southampton.
The 24-year-old had to be taken off midway through the first half in the 0-0 draw versus Arsenal on Saturday after sustaining stomach cramps.
Whether the issue will clear up in time ahead of the match at Old Trafford tomorrow night, it remains to be seen. McTominay was replaced by Anthony Martial at the Emirates and Solskjaer may have to consider changing his team for the Saints game.
The Red Devils’ only other injury concern is Phil Jones. The centre-back has not featured for the club so far this season, having had knee surgery all the way back in the summer.
There has been speculation that the England international could be sold but his fitness problems mean there has been a lack of interest in the defender. He hasn’t played a competitive game since scoring in the 6-0 win over Tranmere in the FA Cup in January 2020.
