Juventus legend slams ‘un-convincing’ Paul Pogba

Juventus legend Edgar Davids says he remains unconvinced about Paul Pogba.

The Manchester United midfielder had a fine summer with France as he helped his country lift the World Cup for only the second time in their history.

However he has again had a difficult start to the season with United, coming under criticism from pundits and fans for his inconsistent form.

And Davids is now the latest in the 25-year-old’s growing line of critics.

He told Canale 5: “I am not at all convinced by Paul Pogba.

“He plays a lot in England, it’s true, but I expected a lot more from him.”

Pogba has been heavily liked with a move away from Old Trafford following a tough two-and-a-bit seasons, with Barcelona favourites to take him away from United either after Christmas or next summer.

However former club Juventus have emerged as another potential suitor, with reports this week suggesting they may be willing to offload forward Paolo Dybala as part of a sensation swap deal to bring Pogba back to Turin.

But Davids again sparred no prisoners in his opinions on Dybala, insisting, like Pogba, the Argentine forward must do more to prove his talent.

“Dybala is a great talent, but he has to work harder,” he continued.

“It is not always the fault of the coach or the game system, even the player must look in the mirror and do more.”

Davids spent seven seasons with Juventus between 1997-2004 before moving to Barcelona on-loan for just half-a-season where he made 18 appearances.
