Manchester United and Chelsea are interested in signing Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel, according to Sport1 reporter Patrick Berger.
The reliable journalist claims that representatives from the two teams “met with” one of the Swiss international’s agents, although the player is not in a rush to leave Germany:
Chelsea and ManUnited both interested in Dortmund‘s Gregor Kobel. They have met with an agent of the Swiss goalkeeper. The 25yo has contract til 2026, no release clause. He wants to stay at least one more year with #BVB. The Bundesliga side has no intention to sell. ⚫️🟡 @SPORT1

It is believed that the meetings took place when Kobel was in London last week for Dortmund’s game against Chelsea in the Champions League.
United are said to be considering their options just in case David De Gea doesn’t sign a new contract. The Spaniard’s current deal expires at the end of the season and he has been asked to take a pay cut.
Kobel is not the only keeper that the Manchester club’s recruitment team have been looking at. Porto’s Diogo Costa has been a long-term target but Brentford’s David Raya has also been mentioned as an option in the past couple of months.
