Journalist Reveals Leicester Are Plotting Move To Snap Up 30M Rated United Ace

Leicester are lining up a bid for Manchester United attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard, according to Football.London‘s Chris Wheatley.

The reliable journalist claims that the Foxes are interested in signing the England international as a potential replacement for playmaker James Maddison:

As Wheatley points out, Arsenal are interested in snapping up Maddison but the Gunners are still struggling to match Leicester’s £60m asking price. That would suggest an approach for Lingard is still some way off.

The 28-year-old revived his career during a loan spell at West Ham in the second half of last season, and United are said to value the player at £30m, despite the fact he has less than a year remaining on his contract at Old Trafford.

Lingard is believed to be happy to remain in Manchester but, if a sizeable offer does come in for the midfielder before the transfer window closes, the Red Devils may well look to cash in.
