Manchester United and Chelsea are both interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe, according to FootballTransfers.com reporter Jacque Talbot.
The journalist claims that Mbappe is pressing for a move away from PSG in January after being left unhappy with the club’s business in the transfer market:
Exc: Kylian Mbappe using media leaks to strengthen his position while Paris Saint-Germain have no intention to sell player in January. Star frustrated PSG didn’t bring in a target man to play alongside him. Club wanted to bring in no.9 + cb but all money went on Mbappe contract.

Man Utd would love to bring in such a superstar name to the club, but with Cristiano Ronaldo’s current wages, such a move would be unfeasible at present. Real Madrid and Chelsea are in there too. Full story @Transfersdotcom: https://t.co/Cld1Xu69p6

As Talbot says, United “would love” to sign Mbappe, like most top European clubs, but there would be two key obstacles in the way of a move to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils are not currently intending to make funds available for the January transfer window, after shelling out £227m on players over the summer.
While that hurdle could be overcome, a bigger issue would be Mbappe’s wages. The World Cup winner is currently earning over a £1m a week and, combined with Cristiano Ronaldo‘s salary, it is not something that United could afford. At the moment, a switch to Manchester looks very unlikely.
