Manchester United remain keen on signing Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves, according to Eurosport‘s Dean Jones.

Arsenal have emerged as frontrunners for the Portuguese international in recent months, and despite the Gunners still being the most likely to table a bid for the player, Jones claims the Red Devils should not be ruled out of the race:

“I’m told that the Neves pursuit is genuine. And while Arsenal are the most active in trying to get that over the line, United are still in the conversation.”

Neves has been a long-standing target for United, and he could be a player that the club’s scouting team are considering as the Red Devils look to strengthen their options in the middle of the park.

Wolves are thought to be open to selling the 24-year-old for around £35m, which is a lot cheaper than his asking price in past transfer windows.

At the moment, though, it seems United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is focusing on strengthening the centre of defence, with Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane reportedly the next player on the club’s target list.
