Jose wants two new signings in January

Manchester United are reportedly looking at making two signings during the January transfer window.

United have had a fairly successful campaign so far, sitting 2nd in the league whilst also through to the Champions League knockout stages.

But it is understood that Jose Mourinho wants to build on his transfer activity from the summer by signing a winger and a central midfielder.

Mourinho made three signings in the summer but was aggrieved at not being able to sign a fourth in winger Ivan Perisic.

The club have plenty of attacking options but look very thin with actual out-and-out wingers, something Jose was keen to rectify last summer but the club failed to do so.

Many names have been linked, German star Julian Weigl is a prospect while Bordeaux star Malcom has been heavily linked. The 20-year-old’s scored seven goals in 15 appearances so far this term and would be a great addition to the side.

In midfield, United look like they could be set to lose Marouane Fellaini whose contract expires at the end of the season. His replacement could be in the shape of Real Madrid star Mateo Kovacic, who has been rumoured to be leaving the club after seeing limited game time.
