Jose Mourinho plotting shock swap deal to land PSG ace

Jose Mourinho will offer PSG Anthony Martial as part of a swap deal to lure Kylian Mbappe to Manchester United, according to reports.

Spanish publication Don Balon report the Portuguese manager is prepared to splash as much as £167 million to bring Mbappe to Old Trafford, and will use Martial as part of the deal too.

Martial is widely expected to leave United this summer after falling out of favour with Mourinho last season.

The Frenchman found himself playing second fiddle to Alexis Sanchez in the second half the season, despite the Chilean’s poor him – with his lack of game time leading to his exclusion from the France national team for this summer’s World Cup.

Mbappe however will travel with Didier Deschamps squad after an impressive debut season with PSG, in which he scored 21 times for Unai Emery’s side.

PSG are keen to hold onto the 19-year-old forward, however may be forced to sell-up due to FIFA’s financial fair play rules.

Mbappe joined PSG last summer on an initial one-season loan deal, and the Parisians will now pay his former side AS Monaco a reported £168 million to make the deal permanent as agreed last year.

Having signed Brazilian Neymar last summer for a world record fee of £200 million however, the Parisians are likely to breach of FIFA’s rules, and may have to sell one or the other to avoid sanctions.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are both also thought to be interested in Mbappe.
