Jose Mourinho keen on summer re-union with former favourite Willian

Jose Mourinho is preparing a summer bid for Chelsea star Willian, according to reports from TalkSPORT.

United were rebuffed in their attempts to to sign the Blues winger in January, however will now go in again for the Brazilian at the end of the season.

Willian was a former favourite of Jose Mourinho’s during his second tenure at Chelsea, and it is understood the pair still maintain a good personal relationship.

The 29-year-old was on target for Chelsea at the weekend during United’s 2-1 victory over the Blues at Old Trafford, and Mourinho was full of praise for his former star following the clash on Sunday afternoon.

“Do you want to talk about Willian?” Mourinho said after his side’s 2-1 victory, “Top, cream of the crop, he’s amazing.”

Willian’s goal at the weekend was his fifth strike in seven games, and his thirteenth of the season – already his best total in a single campaign for the Blues.

And following his rich vein of form as of late, Antonio Conte will not be keen to let the Brazil international leave this summer, especially to a rival club.

However should United offer a significant amount of money, Willian could be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge should Chelsea be able to find a suitable replacement.

Should he make the switch to Old Trafford, Willian would be joining a host of his former Chelsea team-mates in Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku.
