James And Williams In, Greenwood And Young Out: United’s Predicted XI To Face Brighton

Manchester United Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would have been happier with his side’s performance against Partizan Belgrade midweek, but the club’s injury crisis means his options are limited for tomorrow’s game against Brighton.

Ashley Young is suspended after picking up five yellow cards and that means Brandon Williams is likely to take his place in the side. Solskjaer says he is waiting to see if Victor Lindelof recovers from a back problem but the Swede will probably line up alongside Harry Maguire in the centre of defence.

The midfield very much depends on the fitness of Scott McTominay. The 22-year-old was subbed against Partizan with a knock, but with James Garner the only other alternative in midfield, it’s likely the Scot will take his place alongside Fred, with Andreas Pereira being favoured ahead of Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard.

Up front, Dan James was rested for the Partizan game, and despite Mason Greenwood opening the scoring on Thursday night, it’s likely that the Welshman will replace him in the lineup for Brighton. James will form an attacking trio with Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

Manchester United’s Predicted XI To Face Brighton:

De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Williams, McTominay, Pereira, Fred, James, Martial, Rashford
