“It’s A Serious Possibility…” Romano Makes Claim About United’s Chances Of Signing 39M Rated La Liga Star

Villarreal defender Pau Torres could well join a Premier League club this summer, with Manchester United one of the teams still considering an offer for the defender according to Fabrizio Romano.

While the Red Devils haven’t yet reached the stage where they are prepared to make a bid for the 25-year-old, Romano says the centre-back is someone that manager Erik ten Hag has taken under consideration:

“I see Pau Torres playing in the Premier League next season because it’s a serious possibility, but at the moment, it’s still not something advanced between clubs. So I think they are considering together with Erik ten Hag the best option and then they will jump into it.”

Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham have also been credited with an interest in Torres, so United may have to make their move pretty soon if they want to secure his services.

A number of reports suggest that the Manchester club are keen to offload some deadwood first before bringing in a centre-half but, so far, bids for the likes of Eric Bailly and Phil Jones have not been forthcoming.

Torres is believed to be available for between €45m (£39m) and €50m (£43m) so we shall see if United can find the funds to sign the Spanish international.
