Is This A Technique To Keep The Players Focused?

United’s Dutch manager is certainly very stubborn and very determined as he insists he will not quit before his contract ends. Also he does not seem the kind of manager that would lie about his future just to keep the players focused. Looking through the news, as he has said he could have been fired at least three times this season. He was also rumored to quit. All these rumors annoyed LVG to the point of lashing out to reporters during post-match conferences. According to the Daily Star he recently wanted to put an end to all of that and said that he will never quit. “I have signed a three-year contract and I have said in all my press conferences that it’s a process, not one game. And I want to continue until the end. If I am not willing to do that, I don’t think I would have started here one and a half years ago.”

LVG has been booed by fans and some think he may have lost the locker room. His static personality and lack of visible involvement in the player’s performance and the overall team’s performance during matches may be putting a wall between him and the footballers.

On the other hand, if it is all a technique to keep the players focused and not disorient them even more than they already are, it might wash away some of LVG’s mistakes. The good news is that United beat Derby County last night to reach the 5th round of the FA Cup on the back of a 3-1 win where Rooney scored a spectacular goal in the first half and Mata and Blind scored in the second half to secure the win. United are suffering from a significant number of injuries and that has to have a negative effect but regardless LVG would have enjoyed his wine after the match last night.
