Is This A Swap Worth Making?

It will be a while until any transfers will be made this summer. The European Championship will be keeping clubs from making any moves so all we can do right now is speculate. Depending on the players’ performances and on the form shown while representing their home countries, prices will drop or grow and offers will change on a daily basis. There’s also the fact that the lots for the Continental competition are not yet known meaning that transfer talks will stall at least until it is known who is going to France and who is not.

Regardless of all that, there is one player for whom Manchester United should start negotiations right away. It’s Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane. The youngster who is now in the shadow of Sergio Ramos and Pepe, would like to get a chance to play and that chance might come from LVG. The Dutchman has given a lot of chances to youngsters this season and that is exactly what Varane needs. With Phil Jones failing to deliver, Real’s defender could actually be a key element in Manchester’s future line-up. Pairing him with Smalling or Blind would be something any Manchester United fan would like to see.

According to the Daily Star, the transfer could be costly though as Bayern also seem set on signing the Frenchman. The German giants should not be that determined to sign Varane though as they already have Boateng and plan on securing Hummels in the near future. There’s also the fact that Manchester might have an ace up their sleeve. His name is Memphis Depay. If what papers are saying lately, the Dutchman is looking for a move. It does not need to be a permanent one though as a loan deal should suffice. Sending the winger to Real who are very likely to be looking for a replacement for Ronaldo, could shave a lot off Varane’s price. The problem with this move is that if all that was speculated last summer about De Gea was true, then there’s no chance Real and Manchester are reaching any kind of agreement.

It would be great to see Varane play for United considering how talented is at such a young age. If LVG continues down the same line, the Devils will become the team to watch as young talent is always enthusiastic and entertaining to watch.
