Manchester United captain Harry Maguire did not travel with the squad to France ahead of tonight’s Champions League group stage game against Paris Saint-Germain.
Reports have suggested that the 27-year-old suffered a minor injury in the match against Newcastle and is not being risked ahead of this weekend’s clash against Chelsea.
Some supporters on Twitter are worried about United’s chances against PSG with Maguire being unavailable, while others are now more hopeful of getting a result, considering the defender’s recent form:
IS THIS A SICK JOKE

I think many will suddenly realise how much we rely on maguire come tomorrow, dreading that game if we go with just lindelof & bailly as a back 2.

Granted he hasn’t been great but without him we are genuinely worse. We wouldn’t of got top 4 without him last season

Maguire’s absence will be a blow for the Red Devils. The alternatives don’t exactly fill you with much confidence, with neither Victor Lindelof nor Eric Bailly having impressed this season.
Axel Tuanzebe is in the squad for this evening’s game but, with the 22-year-old having not played this season after recently recovering from an ankle injury, it would be a massive ask for him to come in and play at the Parc des Princes.
