Ince Questions United’s Interest In £107m La Liga Ace Who’d Struggle With The ‘Ferocity’ Of The Premier League

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Ince does not think Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix would be suited to playing in the Premier League.

The Portuguese international was linked with a switch to Old Trafford last week, but Ince feels the 19-year-old has found it difficult since making the €120m (£107m) move to Spain, and he would find it even tougher in England:

“He struggled in Spain – and there’s still a ferocity to the Premier League. You’ve got to think about if they can come in and play straight away.”

There’s no doubt that Felix has a very slight frame, and his lack of physicality would have to be worked on if he did make the switch to the UK.

In terms of his form at Atletico, it is a bit more difficult to make a definitive judgement. Diego Simeone’s side are a very defensive team, and forwards do tend to struggle to make an impact.

Felix is still a teenager, and while he may have only scored six goals and provided three assists in 28 appearances this season, he is still learning and it would be harsh to write him off too soon.
