“In Their Sights…” Journalist Claims United Are One Of 3 PL Clubs Who Could Target Dutch Star After World Cup

Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham all have Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries “in their sights”, according to journalist Rudy Galetti.

Writing in his column for Tribal Football, Galetti claimed that Inter are not against selling the Dutchman and they have already identified four possible replacements, including Lazio’s Manuel Lazzarri, Torino’s Wilfried Singo, Spurs’s Emerson Royal and Girona’s Arnau Martinez.

For their part, United have not yet decided whether they will go ahead with a move for Dumfries. It is believed they have certain doubts about the player and they will see how he performs at the World Cup.

Erik ten Hag’s side are said to be considering potential alternatives. Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong, who is coincidentally a teammate of Dumfries’s at international level, is also being scouted.

Reports suggest that Frimpong could be available for around £20m to £25m, which would make him a cheaper option than Dumfries, who is expected to cost in excess of €30m (£26m). We shall see who ends up being the number one target.
