‘In The Crosshairs…’ Report Claims United Are Plotting Raid For 44M Rated Serie A Star

Inter Milan fullback Denzel Dumfries is “in the crosshairs” of Manchester United ahead of the January transfer window, according to Calciomercatoweb.it.

The Italian rumour mongers report that the Red Devils are likely to make a move for the Netherlands international as they look to strengthen their options on the right flank.

Dumfries was linked with both United and Chelsea over the summer, and he is expected to be on the market in the New Year, with Inter keen to raise funds to balance the books.

Calciomercatoweb do, however, claim that United may try and use Aaron Wan-Bissaka in a part-exchange deal for Dumfries, but Inter are unlikely to accept such a proposal as they need the cash.

€50m (£44m) has been quoted as the asking price in the past but it remains to be seen whether Erik ten Hag’s side will be prepared to pay the amount. Competition for Diogo Dalot is needed but, after spending a large sum on transfers during the summer, the Manchester club are not expected to make sizeable funds available in January.
