‘In Other Words No One Else Wants Him’ ‘Stealing A Living’ United Fans Perplexed By Decision To Keep Injury Prone Star

Manchester United will not look to offload Phil Jones before the transfer window closes, according to reports in England.

The 29-year-old has not played for the first team for eighteen months due to various injury problems, but the club have decided that he will be kept around as the fifth choice centre-back.

Fans on Twitter are surprised by the decision to keep Jones, considering he has played so little football for the club in recent seasons:

Jones reportedly earns a staggering £130,000 a week and he still has two years remaining on his contract. There was believed to be some interest from West Ham in the defender but no formal approach was made by the Hammers.

It’s likely that most clubs have been put off by his injury record, but if he does get some game time under his belt this campaign, it may attract some interest from other teams which could finally lead to him leaving Old Trafford.
