Manchester United are one of five clubs pursuing Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria, according to Bild. The German tabloid reports that Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham and Inter Milan are also keen on the player.
It is believed that United have expressed an interest in signing the Swiss international, but Gladbach are said to be holding out for a fee in excess of €50m (£43m) for the 22-year-old. Most supporters on Twitter would back a move for the Bundesliga star:
Immense if we pull this off.

He is at least better than Matic and Scott to be honest.

Great. For me he is the big type of Ngolo Kante

Other fans are sceptical about Zakaria’s price tag, with some believing the Red Devils would have to pay over the odds to get him:
Too expensive for this player…

The Swiss star is a dynamic holding midfielder, but with Scott McTominay already fulfilling that role, it’s hardly an area of the pitch that would be a priority for United.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would probably be looking for an attack-minded player who can offer some much-needed creativity in the final third of the pitch.
