“I’m Told…” Romano Reveals Ten Hag’s Obsession With Securing 200K A Week Star’s Signature

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is “obsessed” with trying to tie down Marcus Rashford to a new long-term contract, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The 25-year-old has been in scintillating form this season, but he has less than eighteen months remaining on his current £200,000 a week deal, and Romano claims ten Hag is focused on getting the player’s future resolved:

“I’m told that ten Hag is really obsessed with the contract extension of Marcus Rashford and it’s something they will try to do.”

Rashford did not get on the scoresheet against Reading at the weekend but his goal record since the World Cup is quite sensational. He has bagged 10 goals in 11 appearances, having also contributed three assists.

Speculation over a potential switch to Paris Saint-Germain, though, has been growing since the summer, and there has been no indication that United are close to agreeing an extension with the player.

Ten Hag has helped Rashford thrive this season, with the forward having struggled badly prior to the new manager’s arrival, and that strong relationship could help get a new contract signed.
