Manchester United are likely to reignite their interest in Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho this summer, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist claims that the Red Devils are almost certain to make a move for the 21-year-old but, with recent reports that Chelsea and Liverpool are also keen on the player, he warned there will competition for the England international’s signature:

“I’m sure that if Manchester United will come back, offering money to Borussia Dortmund and talking with Sancho, he will be 100% happy, but, also other clubs were interested and are interested, so it’s an open race.”

It is believed that Dortmund are currently holding out for €100m (£87m) but it is possible that the Bundesliga side could accept a lower fee for Sancho. There is, though, one major caveat.

Dortmund reportedly want a deal done early in the summer transfer window so it allows them time to find a replacement. They don’t want a repeat of last year when negotiations dragged into August.

It will, therefore, be up to United to come up with a suitable offer as soon as possible if they want to finally secure Sancho’s services
