Ibrahimovic Plots Guardiola Revenge

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s proposed move to join Manchester United is apparently just a medical away, it has been widely reported that the Swede will sign on a one year deal, and have a go at the Premier League after winning almost all there is to win everywhere else he has been. If the news of his massive move to United wasn’t enough, his agent has further excited Premier League fans by revealing that the 34-year-old plans to get his revenge on new Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

Mino Raiola, Zlatan’s agent, says his client is motivated by the idea of going head-to-head with Guardiola once again. The striker famously fell out with Guardiola during their time at Barcelona in the 2010/11 season, and Ibrahimovic moved swiftly on from the Camp Nou. Ibrahimovic then branded his former boss a ‘coward’ in his autobiography.

Should Ibrahimovic move to Old Trafford, it would mean that the already tense Manchester City/ United rivalry would hot up even more so – with Mourinho facing Guardiola already promising some fiery encounters next season.

Raiola told Marca: “I think he wants revenge on Guardiola, although he does not live for it because you shouldn’t have two graves – one for him and one for the enemy.”

“It seems destiny wants to see that meeting take place. One option is to go to the Premier League but for as long as Sweden continue in the Euros there will be no solution.”

“You learn more from defeats than you do from victories and Zlatan learned a lot from what happened with Guardiola. As a person, I don’t like him either. Zlatan admits he is a great coach and I can think it, but I refuse to admit it.”

When asked about Ibra’s future, Rainola was giving nothing away:

“I have already decided, now it is up to him (Ibrahimovic). We will see. They are really busy with the Euro. Out of respect for the Euro, the country and the coach, he should concentrate on that.”
