Ex-Manchester United defender Gary Neville believes that his former club could still win the Premier League again before Liverpool do.
Despite finishing 31 points behind the Merseyside club last season, the former player turned TV pundit is optimistic that the Red Devils can make huge strides and start challenging for the title sooner rather than later:
“I can guarantee you as clear as day, Manchester United will win again. They’ll probably win the league before Liverpool, in my opinion. And that’s not being disrespectful, they’ll probably win the league before Liverpool.”
Fans on Twitter are hopeful that Neville’s prediction comes true:
I love the optimism?

A lot, of course, depends on Manchester City. If Pep Guardiola stays in the job, he could certainly prevent this Liverpool side from lifting the Premier League. That could give United enough time to rebuild and mount their own challenge.
There are a lot of things that will need to go right for United to return back to the top of the pile, though. A competent recruitment strategy combined with a manager who is tactically capable of matching the best coaches in the country. Neville says he hopes Solskjaer can be that man but, regardless, he expects United will make the changes required to win another title.
