“I Can Confirm…” Romano Makes Exciting Transfer Claim After United Are Linked With 8 Goal Bundesliga Fullback

Bayer Leverkusen fullback Jeremie Frimpong is open to returning to the Premier League, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Dutchman started his career in Manchester City’s academy before making his senior debut for Celtic and now, with Manchester United pursuing his signature, Romano says he is keen on coming back to the UK:

“I can confirm that the player is really attracted by a possible return to the Premier League because he started his career in England and now in this case, with Manchester United, it’s a possibility that is really attracting the player. So they’ve had the player in the list since October/November. They sent, Manchester United, people from their scouting department to follow Jeremie Frimpong of Bayer Leverkusen. And so let’s see if bids will arrive for Aaron Wan-Bissaka but Frimpong is one to watch and the player would be keen on the move to Manchester United.”

Manager Erik ten Hag is believed to be a big admirer of Frimpong, who has thrived as an attacking fullback since moving to Leverkusen.

This season, the 22-year-old has scored eight league goals, although it should be pointed out that most of his matches this season have seen him play as a wingback in a back five.

There are still big questions over Frimpong’s defending, particularly in a back four and, if United do sell Aaron Wan-Bissaka (who has much stronger defensive capabilities), ten Hag would be hoping that Frimpong can improve that aspect of his game.
