“I Am Really Disappointed…” United Star Provides Devastating Injury Update

Donny van De Beek has confirmed that he will miss the remainder of the 2022/23 season due to injury with a post on Instagram. While surgery on his knee was a success, it will keep him out of action for several months, and he won’t be available for upcoming matches against Crystal Palace and Arsenal.

In the post, Van De Beek is seen lying in a hospital with his right leg in a huge cast. He appears to be in good spirits however, as he is pictured giving a thumbs up to the camera with a smile on his face. The Dutch midfielder wrote on the post:

“I am really disappointed that the season is over for me. After successful surgery, it’s time to start my recovery process and will do everything to come back stronger for this club. Thank you all for the lovely messages, they mean a lot to me and my family.”

Van De Beek has struggled for game time at Manchester United this season, only playing in seven of their league games. Additionally, he has only been in the starting eleven twice, one of which was against Bournemouth where he sustained the injury.

He joined United back in 2020, but has accumulated just 34 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils in that time, having also had a loan spell at Everton.
