Manchester United announced yesterday that David De Gea had signed a new four-year contract. The Red Devils had been in negotiations with the player for almost two years before the Spaniard finally signed on the dotted line.
Supporters on Twitter have been reacting to the news with many relieved that the deal has been finally signed off, while others are hoping for an improvement in his performance levels:

It is believed that De Gea will earn £375,000 a week, which could amount to £93.75m if he stays until the end of his contract.
While the Spanish international did have a dip in form last season, the majority of fans will feel the cost of the new deal is well worth it.
It is extremely hard to find a world-class goalkeeper in the transfer market and at 28 years of age, De Gea has many more years left at the top of his game.
