Manchester United are one of three Premier League clubs “already lining up” a summer move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, according to Il Mattino.
Arsenal and Newcastle are also pursuing the Nigerian international and it’s not a surprise considering his excellent recent form. The forward scored a brace in a 5-1 win over Juventus on Friday, extending the Partenopei’s lead at the top of the Serie A table to nine points.
Osimhen now has 13 goals in 17 appearances this campaign and United supporters on Twitter are backing the club to make an approach for the 24-year-old at the end of the season:
This is good news. Hope it’s true 🤞🏾🤞🏾

He should be number 1 priority nobody else not even Kane. The only exception is Mbappe if he will be available

Any approach for Osimhen is likely to be dependent on whether the Red Devils are sold to new owners by then. Napoli are expected to demand in excess of €100m (£89m) for the player and you can’t see the Glazers paying that sort of money when they are no longer keen on investing in the club’s future.
If a takeover does take place in the coming months, though, and Osimhen continues banging in the goals, he will undoubtedly be one of the main options to become United’s new number nine.
