“He’s Totally Out Of Order!” Ian Wright Slams Behaviour Of United Star

BBC pundit Ian Wright believes criticism of Bruno Fernandes’s behaviour in Manchester United’s defeat to Liverpool last weekend was completely justified.

The Arsenal legend says Fernandes did not act like a captain during the humbling loss at Anfield, and he feels his conduct was way out of line:

“This is the captain! This is the guy who’s meant to be leading by example, and you look at how he’s acting… I can’t, honestly, that is laughable. That wouldn’t happen in our day… Simply because a player like that wouldn’t get to our levels where he is with all that kind of histrionics in one of the biggest games in English football. It is there for everyone to see. He’s totally out of order!”

Many United supporters completely agree with Wright and others who have criticised Fernandes’s antics, but manager Erik ten Hag has confirmed that the Portuguese international will continue to wear the armband.

With the exception of the Liverpool game, the 28-year-old has led by example, putting in some excellent performances in recent months.

Seven goals and 11 assists in 40 appearances is a pretty decent return for the season, but Fernandes will be hoping to add to those numbers before the end of the campaign. He will certainly be keen to put last Sunday’s display behind him and help his team achieve their aims in the Premier League, Europa League and FA Cup.
