‘He’d Be An Unreal Signing’ ‘Absolute Beast’ Fans Excited As United Eye Move For Belgian International

Amadou Onana is a United transfer target.

Manchester United are seriously considering making a move for Everton midfielder Amadou Onana, according to the Daily Mail.

The same newspaper revealed earlier this week that the Belgian international was being discussed by the club’s recruitment team and it appears they are now contemplating a bid.

A lot of fans on X would back United signing Onana, who impressed for Everton during his debut season in the Premier League:

United’s alternative to Amrabat?

It was widely assumed that Erik ten Hag’s side would make an offer for Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat once they have raised enough funds through player sales.

Fred’s departure for Fenerbahce was thought to have paved the way to sign Amrabat but it appears the Red Devils may be having second thoughts if their interest in Onana is genuine.

Other Premier League clubs have been linked with Onana

Over the past few months, both Chelsea and Arsenal have been mentioned as potential suitors but it is not believed that either team is in a position to make a move for the 21-year-old this summer.

Chelsea are locked in talks to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton for a fee in excess of £110m, while the Gunners wrapped up a club-record deal for Declan Rice last month.

United do seemingly have a clear path if they do want to buy Onana, although he is likely to be more expensive than Amrabat, so that could still be a major obstacle in future negotiations.
