Head Of Ajax’s Academy Confirms Departure Of Wonderkid As United Are Tipped To Sign Him

The head of Ajax’s youth academy has confirmed that Dillon Hoogewerf had decided to leave the Dutch club.

Speaking out about the departure of the 16-year-old, Said Ouaali revealed that the forward will be moving abroad this summer:

“He is leaving for a foreign club. We wish him a lot of success and know that we have done everything to keep him. He may ultimately make the choice and choose a foreign adventure.”

It is believed that Manchester United are the team that Hoogewerf will sign for, which will be a tremendous coup for the Red Devils.

The teenager has been in good form for Ajax’s Under 17 side this campaign, having scored 10 and made six assists in 21 appearances. His form was so impressive that Ajax moved him up to play for the Under 19s in the UEFA Youth League.

Hoogewerf has also impressed at international level, having hit six goals in eight games for the Netherlands at Under 15 level. For the Under 16s, he has also scored two in five matches.

He generally plays out wide in a front three but he has also been used through the middle by Ajax this season.
