‘He Is On Manchester United’s Radar…’ Report Reveals Ten Hag Will Battle Arsenal For £52M Rated La Liga Playmaker

Zubimendi

Manchester United remain interested in signing Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Catalan publication claim that the Spanish international is also being watched by the likes of Arsenal and Barcelona.

Zubimendi’s performances in two Europa League matches against the Red Devils are said to have caught the attention of manager Erik ten Hag.

However, while Mundo Deportivo report that “he is on Manchester United’s radar”, the playmaker will only be allowed to leave Spain if a team pays his €60m (£52m) release clause.

Will United pay Zubimendi’s buyout fee?

A lot will likely depend on ten Hag’s position on keeping Marcel Sabitzer at Old Trafford. The Austrian’s loan spell expires at the end of the season and he will return to Bayern Munich.

The player is thought to be keen on staying in Manchester, but there are question marks about his fitness. It must be said that Sabitzer is more attack-minded than Zubimendi so ten Hag will also have to decide what type of midfielder he wants to recruit this summer.
