‘He Deserves Whatever He Wants’ – Fans On Twitter React To Reported £400k A Week Contract Offer To United Star

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea is prepared to sign a new contract worth over £400k a week, according to reports in the English media.

The Red Devils have already triggered their option to extend the 28-year-old’s current deal by a further year until 2020, but this new contract would keep the player at the Manchester club into his 30s.

Fans on Twitter are keeping their fingers crossed that the reports are true, with many supporters believing that De Gea deserves the wage rise:

It is believed that the £400k a week figure includes bonuses so his basic wage may be somewhat below that number. Still, it will be a massive salary increase for the Spanish international.

With United paying Alexis Sanchez a reported £500k a week, it has made negotiating new deals with other players very tricky, but De Gea’s importance to the team will mean the club will push the boat out to keep their star man.

Paris Saint-Germain are said to be interested in the keeper, with a £60m offer reportedly being lined up in the summer, but such speculation would be put to bed if the shot-stopper signs on the dotted line.
