Manchester United have entered talks with Atalanta about signing teenager Amad Traore, according to the Manchester Evening News journalist Samuel Luckhurst:

The 18-year-old has been on the Red Devils’ radar for a while, and it appears they have now entered formal talks to snap up the winger before the transfer window closes. Fans on Twitter are not sure what to make of the move, with some questioning what it means in terms of the attempts to sign Jadon Sancho:
but have we just given up on sancho?

I’ll take anything at this point

If not seen as an alternative this is a great signing

At this point I’m lost with this current window.

At this rate, we will sign everybody, Sancho, Dembélé, Traore ?

He looks very decent a player, n needs a chance at the top level to unlock his full potential. A huge upgrade to Dan James in my opinion. Dortmund can keep Sancho anyways, cos at this point, I don't give a damn!! Get Traore in..

With United also said to be in discussions to sign Ousmane Dembele on loan from Barcelona, it does seem as though the interest in Traore is very much with an eye on the future. The teenager is a promising talent and there are doubts over whether the Ivorian will be able to get a work permit if they don’t make a bid for him now.
With the UK in the process of leaving the EU, this could be the last opportunity to sign the youngster under the current rules that allow English teams to sign a professional with an EU passport.
