‘Got Sent To The Shops Too Many Times’ ‘He Wasn’t Good’ Fans Criticise United Star After He Fails To Take His Chance Against Villarreal

Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot failed to impress as the Red Devils scraped a 2-1 win against Villarreal last night.

The Portuguese international was turned inside and out by winger Arnaut Danjuma, and supporters on Twitter felt he didn’t take his chance to stake his claim for a regular first team place:

There have been some fans that have suggested Dalot should be selected ahead of Aaron Wan-Bissaka but, on the evidence of last night’s game, you have to say there is no merit in that argument.

You can sympathise with the 22-year-old somewhat as he wasn’t given any help by Mason Greenwood. However, on the whole, his defending left a lot to be desired.

With Wan-Bissaka having had his suspension extended to two matches, Dalot will likely start the next Champions League match against Atalanta next month but he isn’t expected to play against either Everton or Leicester before then.
