Glen Johnson Says United Are In Danger Of Losing “Unstoppable” Talent If Two Clubs Make Their Move

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford will be open to joining Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain if either club makes an approach next summer, according to Glen Johnson.

The former Liverpool and Chelsea defender believes that Rashford would not be able to resist offers from two giants of European football:

“I’m a massive fan of Rashford and when he presses and he’s at his best, then he’s unstoppable. I have no doubt that Real Madrid would want to sign him if he’s going to go for less than he should, if his deal’s not too far away from expiring… When teams like PSG and Real Madrid want you, then 100% you’d be interested in them.”

“Obviously, he’s from Manchester and is already at a big football club, but if any footballer told you that they weren’t interested in even having a chat with a club like Real Madrid, they’ll be lying. He may not say it but he will be interested.”

Rashford’s contract at United is set to expire in June but the Manchester club can automatically trigger their option to extend his stay for another year. However, they will still be in a difficult situation at the end of the season if the England international refuses to sign a longer-term deal.

Arsenal and Chelsea have also been mentioned as potential suitors for Rashford in recent months, but, as Johnson points out, the biggest threat will come from clubs abroad.

PSG’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has already expressed his admiration for the United striker while Real have been backed to reinforce their frontline if Eden Hazard or even Karim Benzema leaves. We shall have to wait and see how this transfer story develops.
