‘Glad We Didn’t Bin Him In January’ ‘What A Player’ Fans Praise ‘Underrated’ United Star For His Display Against Brighton

With all the talk being about Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba, it is important to highlight the superb job that Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has been doing in recent games to shield the back four.

The Serbian’s excellent recent performances have allowed the two playmakers the freedom to go forward and create, and he was effective once again in the 3-0 win over Brighton yesterday evening. Supporters on Twitter were delighted with his display:

In January, it looked like Matic was heading for the exit door, with reports earlier in the campaign suggesting he was unhappy with his lack of game time.

However, the 31-year-old has re-established himself as a first-team player under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over the past few months, with the midfielder being rewarded with a one-year contract extension.

Matic certainly deserves huge credit for recapturing his best form, and the former Chelsea star will now be hoping to finish the Premier League campaign with a flourish.
