‘Give Sanchez time and don’t worry’ says Manchester United legend

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs insists Alexis Sanchez needs to be given time to adapt to life at Old Trafford, and fans should not be worried about his slow start to life at the club.

Sanchez joined United in a shock January transfer from rivals Arsenal, however has failed to make the impact he would have hoped since making the move up North.

The Chile international, formerly of Udinese and Barcelona, has scored just once in seven games since his arrival from the Gunners, and is also yet to register an assist for Jose Mourinho’s side.

Having come under criticism following his controversial move and subsequent poor form, Giggs however believes it’s only a matter of time before Sanchez shows his true class in a United shirt.

“He’s a top player. What’s he scored? One goal so far. So I’m sure he’d want to do better than that,” said Giggs of Sanchez.

Sanchez’s only goal for United came in a 2-0 win over Huddersfield earlier this month.

“I think he’s done okay. His team-mates are still trying to find out what he likes, what he doesn’t like, the dynamics of the team.

“Sometimes it fits straight away, sometimes it takes a bit of time.

“I don’t think anyone should be worried about Alexis Sanchez, he’s a top, top player.”

United next travel to Crystal Palace on Monday night.
