Giggs Says United Will Be Pursuing £75m Rated Playmaker This Summer If He Becomes Available

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs is backing his former club to make a bid for Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish if the midfielder is available when the transfer window opens.

The 24-year-old is reportedly one of two players the Red Devils see as key summer targets, and Giggs says he can understand why considering the attributes the playmaker possesses:

“If a quality player like [Grealish] comes available, United are going to be [interested]. He looks like a United player, he takes the ball, he attracts loads of fouls.”

Grealish is apparently open to leaving Villa Park at the end of the season in order to further his career but it would take a sizeable bid for United to get their man.

Villa are under no pressure to sell their captain, despite the financial impact of the global health crisis and the prospect of relegation to the Championship.

They have two billionaire owners and reports suggest that a fee in excess of £75m may well be required if a club wants to snap up Grealish when the current campaign has been completed.
