Giggs reveals his greatest moment during illustrious 24 years at United

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has revealed the best moment he endured over his illustrious 24 year career at Old Trafford.

Giggs is arguably the best player to have ever walked through the doors at Old Trafford, and won 13 Premier League titles amongst a host other trophies.

There must be hundreds if not thousands of highs that Giggs can look back on during his United career, but the Welshman has now revealed what he believes to be the highlight of his tenure at the club.

Giggs explained during a Q&A session that United’s 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich in the Champions League final back in 1999 was the highlight.

“The best moment I’ve ever had on a football pitch was when that final whistle went at the Nou Camp and I actually did cry,” said Giggs.

“It’s the only time I have cried on a football pitch because the emotions just took over.”

He did not however pinpoint a moment in the dressing room that was his favourite, but gave an insight into what it was like to win/lose games.

“No one particular game comes to my mind, it was just the big wins, the Champions League wins, where we came in and were all celebrating, or a couple of last-minute goals to win the game.

“That was when the changing room was really buzzing, that was when everyone was enjoying it. And then the flipside, the ones when you got a dressing down, got a telling off from the manager, they’re the ones that really stick in my mind a lot more than actually celebrating.

“But we had some great times, because you do when you win a big game. You can’t wait to get back in the dressing room and celebrate with the lads.”
