Gianluca Di Marzio Confirms United Are “Interested” In Signing 110M Rated Nigerian Ace

Manchester United would be “interested” in recruiting Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as part of a swap deal involving Cristiano Ronaldo, according to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

Writing on his personal website, the Sky Sport Italia reporter claimed that agent Jorge Mendes made a “simple enquiry” to determine Napoli’s “intentions” and whether they are willing to take Ronaldo.

The subject of Osimhen moving in the other direction was mentioned, although Napoli would demand a “triple digit” million euro offer to let go of the Nigerian international.

Other reports have suggested that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis would want around €130m (£110m) for the striker, which is an exorbitant amount. Arsenal and Chelsea have also been mentioned previously as potential suitors for Osimhen but it isn’t surprising that they were put off from making a move considering his price tag.

United could reduce the fee by including Ronaldo, but it does look as though this is a very complicated operation. Di Marzio points out that most of the Red Devils’ remaining transfer funds will be devoted to snapping up Ajax’s Antony, so fans shouldn’t expect this deal for Osimhen to have any legs.
