Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has refused to commit his long-term future to the club in an interview with the German media.
The Frenchman was the subject of a bid from Barcelona in the summer, and when asked if he intends to stay at Old Trafford, the midfielder reportedly said:
“My future is currently in Manchester. I still have a contract, I’m playing there at the moment, but who knows what will happen in the near future.”
Fans on Twitter were understandably unhappy with Pogba’s comments:
Agreed. Get rid. Buy 2 good players in to strengthen as a whole.

@dukemax3 we should do a coutinho and sell him and buy 2 good replacements who fit the system

No point in a player being here if he doesn’t want to be. We’ll be fine without him anyway

He's so annoying. Man utd should grant him his wish. His interviews are irritating

He isn’t even that good

Oh he annoys me so much. Fergie gave him away for a reason. Bad attitude, man.

I'm not even worried. Isn't one of our most important players on the pitch. Although off the field sales would take a hit. Hopefully we get around 200 million for him.

This man has just caused all united fans to hate him and he can’t leave for 4 months anyway. Barcelona would still bid for him if he didn’t come out with a statement like this. Stupidity.

He’s clearly trying to force a move in January!

We wouldn’t miss him one bit

Pogba’s relationship with manager Jose Mourinho has come under heavy scrutiny in recent months, and when asked about the Portuguese boss, the France international would only say that it was “pure coach-player relationship” and said little else.
The 25-year-old has started all four of United’s league games this season and was even named as captain for the first two matches of the campaign against Leicester and Brighton.
However, Pogba’s relationship with Mourinho has not always been easy. He was relegated to the bench in last season’s crucial Champions League last 16 second leg tie against Sevilla. A match that the Manchester club went on to lose 2-1 and led to them crashing out of Europe in the process.
