Manchester United’s pursuit of Leicester City midfielder James Maddison could partly hinge on his friendship with Harry Maguire, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The local newspaper reports the Red Devils are confident of securing the midfielder because of his close ties with his former Foxes teammate. They also claim that Maddison is a boyhood United fan which should help a deal get over the line.
Supporters on Twitter are calling on Maguire to do all he can in order to persuade Maddison into moving to Old Trafford:

United are by no means the only team keen on the 22-year-old, with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur also said to be keeping tabs on the playmaker. It is also believed that Leicester could demand as much £80m for the player.
Even so, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are in desperate need of a creative player in the middle of the park, and Maddison could well be the perfect candidate.
