Manchester United are interested in signing Lyon fullback Malo Gusto, according to RMC Sport reporter Fabrice Hawkins.
The reliable French journalist claims that the 19-year-old is being pursued by the Red Devils in addition to Chelsea who have had an “initial offer” rejected for the defender:
🔴🔵 Malo Gusto a un accord contractuel avec Chelsea
🔹 Les Blues ont formulé une première offre.
🔹 Un contrat longue durée de plus de 5 ans l’attend
🔹Manchester United s’est aussi positionné et a demandé au joueur de ne pas se précipiter
🔹Chelsea suit toujours D.Dumfries pic.twitter.com/yLMZmp04jD

While many fans on Twitter would like to sign Gusto, some have questioned whether Erik ten Hag’s side will be making any significant moves in the transfer market before the window closes next week:
@ManUtd, get him immediately

He won’t come unless he can challenge Dalot if AWB remains.

At the time of writing, Chelsea have not made a second bid for the teenager but United may need to move fast if they are to persuade him to make the switch to Old Trafford instead.
Whether that will happen, though, it is doubtful. Any approach for a new right-back would be dependent on Aaron Wan-Bissaka leaving so, unless the former Crystal Palace player has a transfer lined up, United may miss out on Gusto.
