Gary Neville Makes His Prediction For Manchester United’s Clash Against Arsenal

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville says he wouldn’t be surprised if the Red Devils beat Arsenal in tomorrow night’s Premier League clash.

The TV pundit says that despite the Gunners coming into the match off a high after winning the North London Derby in dramatic fashion, he thinks United could still secure the three points:

“Old Trafford is always a difficult place to go so it wouldn’t surprise me if United win on Wednesday night. However, what United will now recognise is that they have had that warning from Arsenal (with how they beat Spurs).”

“No team should be shocked about how Arsenal are going to play going into big matches. United will think ‘oh this is different,’ they don’t have a soft centre any more. This is a team that do make challenges and do press the ball, that do get the foot in and have quality.”

Manager Jose Mourinho will want a reaction after Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Southampton and he will need an improved performance when facing a side who have not lost since the 3-2 defeat to Chelsea back in August.

United could, however, be without a number of first-team players for the game due to injury. Marcus Rashford, Romelu Lukaku and Luke Shaw all sustained knocks versus the Saints while the likes of Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling, Matteo Darmian and Antonio Valencia were already missing.

With the long-term injuries to Victor Lindelof and Alexis Sanchez, Mourinho may have a threadbare squad to choose from, although it is hoped that the number of the players on the injury list could recover in time to feature against the Gunners.
