Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has revealed there are still doubts over the fitness of Antony, Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial heading into Sunday’s match against Aston Villa.
The trio were all left out of the squad for the win over Real Sociedad midweek, and it’s likely that, even if they are available for the trip to Villa Park, they may only be fit enough for the bench.
David De Gea will start in goal, while Diogo Dalot and Luke Shaw are expected to line up as the two fullbacks. Captain Harry Maguire may get the nod ahead of Victor Lindelof to play alongside Lisandro Martinez in the centre of defence.
Bruno Fernandes’s suspension means Christian Eriksen could be asked to play in a more advanced position, with Casemiro and Fred playing behind him.
As mentioned, doubts over three forward players means the frontline could have an unfamiliar look to it. Alejandro Garnacho and Anthony Elanga may play either side of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Manchester United’s Predicted XI To Face Aston Villa:
De Gea, Dalot, Maguire, Martinez, Shaw, Casemiro, Eriksen, Fred, Elanga, Ronaldo, Garnacho
