Fred To Start, McTominay And Cavani On the Bench: United’s Predicted XI To Face Brentford

With the chances of Champions League qualification now very low, it looks certain that United’s players will simply be going through the motions for the rest of the season.

They face Brentford tomorrow evening who are safe from relegation so there isn’t really anything riding on the game at Old Trafford, which suggests this could be a rather dull contest.

In terms of the team, manager Ralf Rangnick has a fair few injuries to contend with so don’t expect many changes from the draw against Chelsea. David De Gea will start in goal, with Diogo Dalot and Alex Telles as the two fullbacks.

Victor Lindelof and Raphael Varane are likely to be partnered in the centre of defence once more, with captain Harry Maguire still battling a knee problem.

Fred could be fit enough to start, so he may replace Scott McTominay in the side, with Nemanja Matic and Bruno Fernandes making up the rest of the midfield.

Cristiano Ronaldo will lead the line, with Marcus Rashford and Antony Elanga expected to line up either side of him in attack. Edinson Cavani is back in training but he will only be fit enough for the bench.

Manchester United’s Predicted XI To Play Brentford:

De Gea, Dalot, Lindelof, Varane, Telles, Fred, Fernandes, Matic, Elanga, Ronaldo, Rashford
